Ouyang Xiu
Ouyang Xiu (1007-1072) was a Northern Song Dynasty writer and historian. His courtesy name was Yongshu, and he was also known as Zuiweng and Liuyi Jushi. He advocated the Classical Prose Movement, and his ci poetry was characterized by its elegance, grace, naturalness, and fluency. He was an important representative figure in the ci poetry scene of the Northern Song Dynasty.
Yan Shu
Yan Shu (991-1055) was a lyricist and politician of the Northern Song Dynasty. His style of lyrics was elegant, subtle, and graceful, often depicting feelings about life and the sorrow of parting. He had a significant influence on the development of the graceful lyric style of the Northern Song Dynasty.
Liu Yong
Liu Yong (c. 987–c. 1053), a lyricist of the Northern Song Dynasty, was originally named Sanbian, with the courtesy name Jingzhuang. He later changed his name to Yong, with the courtesy name Qiqing. He excelled at writing slow-paced lyric poems, using simple and natural language to depict the everyday life of ordinary people and the sorrow of parting. He had a profound influence on the development of Song Dynasty lyric poetry.
